Bruno war schon immer ein Freigeist. Geboren im Osten Berlins, bereiste er nach dem Mauerfall als Zimmermann die Welt. 23 Jahre lang war er unterwegs, mal für ein paar Monate hier, mal dort – Amerika, Afrika und natürlich Europa. Dann kehrte er nach Berlin zurück, nach Lichtenberg – an den Stadtrand. Tristes Grau und eine einfache Gemeinschaftsunterkunft. Bruno braucht nicht viel zum Glück; Freiheit genügt. Wenn er will, kann er gehen. Er braucht nur seine Hände zum Arbeiten. Kein Bankkonto, keine Kredite, keine Sicherheiten. Barzahlung, das Geld für die Reise in der Tasche.

Bruno was always a free spirit. Born on the east side of the Berlin, he traveled the world
as a carpenter after the wall came down. For 23 years on the road, sometimes here for a few months, sometimes there – America, Afrika and Europe of course. Then he returned to Berlin, Lichtenberg – the outskirts – the periphery. Dreary gray and a simple communal accommodation. Bruno doesn’t need much to be happy; freedom is enough. If he wants, he can leave. He only needs his hands to work. No bank account, no loans, no securities. Payment in cash, the money for traveling in his pocket.
